

That's not to say that ship gameplay isn't good which it is, but it's as much of a managing game as it is a space sim. The possibilities are endless, including building your own space stations and starting your own space empire. Rather than a pure space sim it's a bit of a mix between space sim and strategy game. This is a bit of a different take on the space sim genre and to be honest it's not for everyone.

To be honest I find myself in the same situation right now and for that reason I'd like to share some advice on good alternatives out there for those looking to scratch that itch, and hopefully get a few myself: 1) X4: Foundations Recently here on Reddit as well as Steam discussions I hear a lot of Elite: Dangerous players admit they've lost the will to come back to the game either due to the disappointment of Odyssey DLC, the downgrade in graphics and performance after the "graphics overhaul" or just Frontier's handling of the game. As someone who has always had a thing for space sims I thought this would be a good time to share this and hear out some opinions as well.
